Intake pipe keeps disconnecting (with video) - any tips?

Hey everyone!

I have a 2015 MB c200d.
I’m having some trouble with intake pipes that keeps disconnecting and needs to get re-fitted as the car gets driven (as a result of normal engine twisting and turning I assume).

I’ve recorded a very brief youtube short of my issue: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-SiDXST3bWQ

This is what I will see when I pop the hood after a couple runs after refitting, it needs to be completely snug or it creates a vacuum leak… I’ve applied some sealant today, retightened and letting it cure, but i’m honestly not too confident it will work.

Getting it snug requires quite some force, not sure if something is not fitted corretly or if that’s how it’s supposed to be, haha.

Looking for any bright ideas! Thank you!

The male end of that should have some kind of a lip on it. Is it damaged? And it just seems like that worm gear clamp should be much tighter. If it won’t tighten any more than perhaps it is damaged. Try replacing it.

You may have failing engine mounts that let the engine move farther than M-B intended.

I’d see if I could find something like this and connect it between the snorky and the filter box with a couple of clamps.

I’m going with worn out motor mounts too!

It’s a turbo diesel. Ain’t no vacuum issue.

Not so sure about that, it looks like that joint is just downstream of some kind of sensor:

Could the worm clamp be worn out and not holding any longer??

Will it tighten enough that you can not force it apart?? You might have to completely unscrew the clamp to check for damage…

I looked at that video again. It seems that you’re fiddling around with it using your hands to show how loose it is, and if I’m seeing things correctly, it’s it’s not fully installed. The flanges on both ends should probably butt up to each other. There is probably some manner of a “catch” the deters it from coming apart, and the worm gear clamp finished the job.

The clamp is obviously loose, turbo pressure will blow the hose off each time the vehicle is driven. I don’t see this as an opportunity to sell a chump new engine mounts.

Hey everyone, thank you so much for the responses!

The sealant I applied still holds it in place so i’m in a waiting position right now

Yes sir, this is a video of when it’s come off by itself. So I put it back together and retightened the clamp after this
