I think that a lot of us can identify with this woman

Ironic. Women driver. Women shrink.

Totally agree. And it’s funny how all of us see the “driving idiots”…when it’s likely the “idiots” see us the same way.

We had some wintry weather in my part of the world; that induces panic at the grocery stores. A family member was telling us the “crazies” were out at the grocery store…when she was there at the grocery store with the “crazies” doing the exact same panic shopping. Pot calling the kettle black, indeed.

Yup!
As soon as a few inches of snow are in the forecast, people race to the supermarket to buy bread, eggs, and milk. Apparently, a snow forecast causes people to desire French Toast.

And don’t forget people piling their pickup truck beds HIGH with toilet paper and paper towels when they panic

I’ve even seen people physically shove seniors out of the way to get to the paper towels and toilet paper

That is beyond inconsiderate, imo

Speaking of panic buying toilet paper…

The other day I was thinking of Covid times, when there was a run on toilet paper. At that time, my local grocery store was perpetually running low on TP; the shelves were generally empty. One day some kind of Charmin showed up on the shelf, but it was priced at literally like $20 per 8 count package. This guy walked over to the shelf and loaded up with 3-4 packages. Another shopper asked him, “hey man, you realize that’s $20 a package, right?” The man said something to the effect of “My wife sent me here to get toilet paper, she said she doesn’t care what it costs.”

Kind of makes you wonder who’s the “idiot” in that situation…but those of us who are married have played that role before.

C’est verite, mon Ami! :grinning:

A couple of those trips could pay for a bidet seat and you’d need much less TP! The seat’s not heated and the water isn’t either but that’s what my daughter and her husband use. I’m spoiled from my time in Japan. I’ve got a heated seat, heated water, and heated air dry. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My MIL doesn’t drive so she calls my wife to ask for more TP when snow is imminent, despite having several weeks worth in the closet. It’s nice to have a concierge. :person_facepalming:t3:

Back in the late 1970’s, there was news about fires at a couple of paper processing plants. Among the things those plants made was toilet paper. The news said there might be localized shortages. Within a few days the shelves were bare and stayed that way for months! My MIL had a 6 year supply.

People panic all too frequently.

Dang, y’all reminded me it is time to stock back up…

Our town, used to have a Mardi Gras celebration. People in there 20s&30s were shoving children out of the way to catch the beads being thrown from the floats.

Just another reason I like Pitbull’s better than people…

And to keep it car related, I love taken my puppies everywhere I go when not leaving the vehicle… or at least keeping it very close to me…

I also often prefer animals to people

For several years now, I’ve been donating substantially to certain organizations that help pets, such as shelters, rescue groups, etc

Animals will often have better behavior than we do

Same here. These things should be in every house. Stayed at a VRBO a couple years ago with them and couldn’t believe how much better they work. Why they haven’t caught on in this country is totally surprising. If you want to get mud off your leg, you’d use water, not a dry paper towel. Same down there.

About 1 hour ago, while hiking in the county park, from afar I saw a woman walking what looked to be a really huge dog. When I got closer, it turned out to be a mini-horse. Stella, the horse, was really cute, and she loved being petted. It was the highlight of an otherwise dull day.

Edited, to add a pic of Stella:

Maybe not. $400+ for a toilet seat is out of range for many people. Even the water only units are over $100.

The average household spends over $1,000/year on liquor and cigarettes so I’m not buying the “out of range for many people” argument. And, most households that can afford them, don’t have them, hence why I’m surprised.

You forgot about lottery tickets. :smirk:
