I Fix Cars

How do I make a post under repairs and maintenance

On the home page click on the New Topic button in the upper right. Title your post. Immediately below that box is another titled ā€œcategoryā€. Click on that box and scroll to the category you want. In this case, ā€œmaintenance and repairsā€ is the first one. Use the other boxes to qualify your post, the write the post.

So I’m not the only one you dislike on here!

I think that tells a lot of us who really has the problem.

And I got suspended basically for standing up to you and others like you, and labeled ā€˜combative’ for it.

Sometimes there are issues you have with other members that are more appropriately discussed ā€˜off the frequency’ in aviation parlance. That’s why we use PM (private messaging).

Well, now we’ve quibbled and quarreled, and managed to not really get anywhere. What I’d like to know is how do you avoid becoming the neighborhood vehicle repair person? I don’t really talk about what I do that much, but it’s certainly visible and my neighbors are pretty close.

Some times your natural or G o d -given abilities just find you.

This site censors the lord? What’s wrong with this place?

I was asked one time why all my friend are mechanics… think about it… It CAN be a curse… lol

I keep to myself, plus I work on the vehicle(s) inside a garage and not outside… If the garage faces the road, I keep the door shut…

Or just tell people you charge $100 or $200 (or whatever) an hour and or you don’t do any side work…

I no longer do any side jobs

I only work on immediate family member’s cars . . . and only if they give me LOTS of advance notice. They only pay for the parts. I don’t profit from that in any way

I’ve got various physical ā€œissuesā€ I’m dealing with and so far, I’m still healthy enough to do my job. I don’t intend to push my luck . . . and possibly shorten my career . . . overexerting myself working on some person’s heap on the weekend

If I badly need some extra money, I can always say yes to overtime at work. That’s time-and-a-half, plus my employer fully covers/insures me during official work hours. That’s not exactly the case at home
