I have a GMC Envoy and the led message is “service air bags” AND “service Onstar” (which btw I don’t subscribe to). These msgs never go off. I have checked the fuses and they’re good. More annoying than anything! Any ideas out there??
Black tape or remove the “onstar” bulb or fuse. As for the airbags, a dealer will have to scan them for fault codes to determine why the light is on. When the light is on, the 'bags are disabled and will not function.
A friend did scan them and there were no fault codes on the monitor he used. Everything checked out good and couldn’t determine the cause. Thanks for the onstar tip.
Airbags don’t scan with a OBD-II scan tool…That’s a completely different issue and while some body shops can scan air-bag codes, for the most part, the dealers have kept this a private affair…
I agree with Caddyman. This is going to require a trip to the dealer.
And remember what he said about the airbags being deactivated. If the light is on your vehicle does not have functional airbags.
