05 GMC pickup,service air bag light staying on. What needs to be done with this?
Someone needs to read the error codes from the airbag system. While some auto parts stores read error codes for free, most will be using generic OBDII scanners that don’t pull airbag codes. You may need to take it to GM, or at least some kind of shop with full scanning capabilities. You could call around to auto parts stores to find out if they can read airbag codes, but I wouldn’t bank on it. Without the codes you have no place to start.
Few places outside dealerships and large body shops have the equipment to read bag codes…With the light on, the air-bag system is disabled and non-functional…
