yes I have heard this too, that is why solar farms could be made to run off of sunlight to separate the water into its two gasses…but if we had super solar cells that I heard we might have that are flexible and can be mounted anywhere, these could be painted onto the vehicle itself making the whole surface of the car a solar generator, much like the solar cars you seen in popular mechanics or pop science, this super cells could electrolyze the water as you drive it down the road and direct the gasses right into a fuel cell that produces enough electricity from the gas to move the engine, but maybe the solar cells are so super they dont need to do that and can directly drive the electic motor from the power of the sunlight alone without the need to make hydrogen? Isnt this what the racing solar cell cars did in fact do? A hybrid solar, water, hydrogen car could be concieved out of these technologies…and even make it so a fuel cell isnt needed at all in the process. Something to think about.
I wish the makers of these devices would tell you how much hydrogen Oxygen HHO gas is electrolyzed out of the water and injected into the system or vacumed sucked into the intake manifold…and at what the air/gas/HHO ratio actually can be or is in it…and what is the critical point where any more addition of HHO harms the engine and or decreases its horsepower…because since the HHO burns at a higher temp…or flash burns at a higher temp when combusted by the spark plug…it would cause the motor to heat up higher…stressing the metal and the cooling system…find that info please…you techno scientist out there who are smarter than me the meathead…
i went to this link and it didnt tell me why…
I made one for my diesel. It works. Idles a lot smoother 2 to 3 gallons a tank better.
Here is a real story on one for local TV.
http://www.troubleshooter.com/ConsumerInformation/ColumnDetails.cfm?ColumnID=769
The only problem I have is the mixture needs to go into the intake after the air mass sensor. (newer cars) One thing I can tell you my old diesel sounds like the newer TDI’s has more power as a guess 2 to 3 gallons of fuel for one tank. I’m going to add a second one next month. right now that is adding up to over 15 bucks a tank saved. @ 5.00 a gallon. California May 22.
Northern California, to Tulare 400 miles after going the wrong way on 205 to 5 Stockton 45 + miles wrong way. At a speed of 70 to 85 MPH it took 9 gallons of diesel. On the way back going toward San Jose Ca. Got lost again looking for Factory Outlet stores 14 miles. The Map showed south 101 but it was North 101. Not driving pass 3,000 rpms or 65 MPH. 7 gallons for 325 miles on highway 152. Did it improve my fuel millage I would say maybe. It does have more power, it does sound better. This is my first unit. I guess I’ll have to see how much gas it puts out. It is using a 1/4 hose going into the air filter intake. It could be to small. I can tell you a 7.5 amp fuse did blow out on me several weeks ago.( only 1 1/2 days) I’m using a 40 amp AC relay to power the system. 25 amp fuse. It not using any more power than the electric fan or Air Conditioning unit would have.
I tested my generator, no gas output tonight, after dinner. I changed over to my mason jar now with lids from Ebay. The Costco nut jar was to cheap (leaks). Wish I did this last Friday before my trip south. I don’t think anyone is reading this anyway. It is all trial an error, if you don’t buy the book. I tried to copy some generators on Ebay.
I joined this forum just for this post. Not to rush things, but curious how your vw is doing. Have you had time to improve you system. I have seen this system on the internet. I am a approaching as a skeptic but also willing to learn. Show me state rules-don’t believe until proven. Enough b.s.-if this is for real I will purchase immediately. So in reality youre doing all of our footwork. Thanks.

I was going to pm you but I realize that is not an option on this forum. Any luck? I don’t live far from you and if you get your generator working I would love to see it. I don’t blame you for putting it on what I’ll call a donor vehicle. Keep us posted.
I have been gone for a week.
Have not really put any real miles on except going to Oakland Air Port from Santa Rosa, for an vacation to the East Coast. Before turning off the engine I checked out the system. The lid I got from Ebay was leaking around the top of the Mason jar. Lots of pressure in the jar. Steam coming out from the loose fittings. I did not glue them. Looks like it needs a larger hose to air filter box. So,the 1/4 inch hose is way to small. A diesel doesn’t have a vacuum like a gas car. A diesel doesn’t have a throttle valve. The hose needs to be larger. Larger the hose harder to find parts. Don’t know if I should go to 1/2 inch Dia. hose. That is hard to find fittings for. Think I’ll go to the 1/2 inch hose. That way if I go for two jars that should pull out what ever is being made.
Today the 12th I installed the larger hose into the air filter box. 1/2 od hose. I do have about 400 miles on this tank right now, it is about fill up time. (that should be this weekend!) it is nice to drive 400 to 600 miles a tank! I do think the around town fuel mileage has gone up! So, it will be mid July before I report back!
I know my son sures miss this car!!! That is why I wanted it so bad! It will be very hard to find parts pretty soon.
Hello all, I joined the forum just for this conversation. I’m a puttering engineer and inventor focusing on alternative energy, I am familiar with most of the HHO generator designs out there. For any of you playing with mason jars please build something that won’t throw shards of glass if you get a flash back, these units are good for bench demonstrations only IMHO and pose a danger in a ICE application.
A little history for you supposed experts, 1825 first ICE built in Sweden powered with Hydrogen from water (electrolysis) 1974 Study done by a number of prominent university’s shows HHO generators improve fuel efficiency and emissions of gasoline and diesel engines, study given to the Automotive Manufactures Association of America (Patently ignored) Present day Mini cooper built by BMW Euro version 60mpg US version 32mpg???
Other ignored info. Ask your alternator manufacturers how many Hp it takes to generate 30amps of electric power (1) The recombining of H+O in combustion generates more joules of energy than needed to split the water molecule (been proven I don’t care what your physics professor told you)
The addition of HHO to a ICE generates better fuel economy for a multitude of reasons.
1)Hydrogen burns faster than gasoline or diesel (a lot faster), this causes a felt increase in compression in the cylinder as the gasoline ignites causing the petro fuel to burn more completely.
2)More complete burn as well as the small amount of water generated by the H,O recombining, cuts down on carbon build up reducing friction.
3)The petro fuel burning faster gives more usable energy in the piston cycle.
4)For the same number of molecules Hydrogen is 2.1 times more powerful than gasoline.
I am a skeptic on many things so for the last 2-3 years have been playing with the HHO generation, building, testing and using, my efforts have proven increased performance and fuel economy, well worth the effort.
1986 Toyota 22R pick up w/150,000mi went from 19MPG city to 26-27 MPG, 24MPG hwy to 29
1991 Ford f-250 w/460ci 195,000mi was 8 mpg city now 11 mpg (haven’t tested hwy)
1985 Ford F-900 Semi 8 mpg went to 14 mpg with less soot and longer power band.
From tested results the nay sayers here don’t know what their talking about.
I will give them this, most of the “kits” available on E-bay are nothing more than a child’s science project and should not be used on a vheicle.
HHO at this time should be considered a fuel additive to increase performance and cut emissions.
I and many of the people working on this technology are doing so to assist the planet and the common man, not get rich selling snake oil.
In the near future when completed, I will post a full set of plans for a functional HHO generator that should cost less than $200 to build so instead of spouting regurgitated info you can find out for yourself.
Don’t believe everything your professors told you, investigate for yourself.
Tarkus,
Are you using a pulse generator? What kind of out put of gas? How about the heat? Are you using a sodium potassium hydroxide in your water? I have not tested my high school generator. I know my first one was to big it ran hot!
Thanks
As I’m finding out, one unit isn’t enough. Why, because of heat! There is one video, where they are running 6 cells. Then one guy using a big cell generator that he can’t keep enough water to supply it! He won’t say how hot it is! I know mine got real hot! Still on my second tank of diesel. As I thought I will need a second one generator. I want to go to pick and pull an get a washer bottle. That before I cut mine up for storage space, for the two cells. As I understand It, the cells makes more Hydrogen under vacuum. Diesel doesn’t work under vacuum, at least mine doesn’t. It works on amount of fuel going in making power. With so much air.
I put some real miles on today. South to San Rafael by the way of Sonoma, California, by Sears Point highway 37 to 101 (IF YOU WANT TO GET YOUR MAP OUT OF NORTHERN CAL.) back up to Santa Rosa on 101 to the Eastern side of town by highway 12. Stopped at the house made some phone calls and off I went again! Then to Sacramento south east off of 50 to 99 with a fuel up there. 200 miles even with 3.857 gallons. Because of the tail wind (the fog coming in from the ocean). I fueled up again back home with 93 miles, it took 1.853 Gallons. I have a real strong third gear now! Because of the torque! The car never got over 48 miles a gallon on the freeways! I would get 45 to 47 most of the time. A strong 44 miles a gallon around town now! Before 37 to 41. Well does it work??? You tell me! I want to install a second one. By the way, on the way back I did stop twice! Once pick up some fruit by Dixon and a stop at Fosters Freeze in Napa!
California EPA says, that the devices they tested. Some proved a 6% increase in millage! Well, is 6% worth saving now? You can answer that one to! EPA never said what they were! Well it looks like it will need a service about 3,000 miles. Just a guess! I’m very happy not buying that book. Remember this is a Diesel car. So does it work???
Talk radio to on KSRO 1350 one guy has a Hyb Toy car, he said 45 miles a gallon. I think he took it on vacation to Canada the last couple weeks. Well, the 86 TD got that! 22 years old. I’m not using baking soda!
I hope people read this!!!
All of you that posted on here.
SOMETIME THIS WEEK COAST TO COAST AM RADIO, LATE NIGHT RADIO HAS INSTALLED A WATER 4 FOR GAS UNIT. THEY WILL REPORT WHAT HAPPENED DURING THEIR TRIP! DON’T KNOW WHAT NIGHT, THEY WILL REPORT ABOUT IT. SHOULD BE ON THE FIRST HOUR OF THE SHOW SOMETIME THIS WEEK! THIS IS THE FORTH OF JULY WEEKEND
