Humming with a vue

MY SATURN VUE 2002 A.W.D. HAS BEGUN MAKING A LOW FREQUENCY HUMMING SOUND AT SPEEDS ABOVE 50 MILES AN HOUR. THE ‘‘HUM’’ APPEARS TO EMANATE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL WELL. THE SOUND CHANGES TO A SLIGHTLY HIGHER PITCH WHEN THE ROAD BENDS AND THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT. ANY IDEAS ? THANKS MHO7505

  1. tire
  2. bearing
  3. a loose exhaust reaching a resonant frequency

How many miles are on the tires?
Have you examined the tires for the amount of wear? Any wear irregularities?

If the tires are good, try jacking up the corners of the car and spinning the wheels by hand. Listen for odd sounds. You should hear a bearing using this method.
