The battery on my 2001 Ford Windstar van went dead. It set off the anti-theft function - the blinkers are blinking and won’t stop. I tried to “bump the starter” several times to get it to start & get off the anti-theft function. Tried the following:
- Disconnected battery & installed a new one
- van starts & runs but flashers won’t stop
- Flasher switch has no effect
- tried locking & opening doors with a key
- what next?
Someone stole my owner’s manual … the dealer service department wants $104 to tell me how to do it. p.s. don’t buy a Ford from a Cedar Rapids dealer.
