How many cars have you owned? List Them!

Got my drivers licence in 1980.

1987 Toyota Corolla AE86
1996 Honda Civic
1998 Chevy C1500
1966 Pontiac GTO, 4 speed, 3:90 all factory (still own)
1967 Fiat Dino (has a Ferrari V6) (still own)
2009 Toyota Corolla
1975 Firebird Formula 400 4 speed
2010 GMC Pick up
Some year of a Honda CRX
2003 Honda Civic Coupe Si

My brother had a
1971 GTO Judge (documented): I found this car but let him get it.
1969 Pontiac Grand Prix model J
1974 Corvette 4 speed
1968 GTO

I wish that he had kept the Judge and Grand Prix. They were really nice cars.

I think that I am almost over my muscle car phase.

Cheers

1996 Honda Civic. 114000 miles on it when T-boned.
2004 Mazda6. Put 226000+ miles on it.
2014 Mustang (new)-- current
2014 Honda CRV (purchased 2016-- current.

Been driving 45 years.

1973 Toyota Corolla - handed down from parents
1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera - with 3.8L engine
2007 Chevrolet Impala - nice but trouble prone
2014 Toyota Camry - current

Also sometimes drove my parents cars:
1965 Oldsmobile 98 land yacht (handled amazingly well at 95mph in a passing situation)
1983 Oldsmobile 88
1987 Mercury Grand Marquis (Dadā€™s business car)

The three best handling have been the Grand Marquis, the Camry, and the Cutlass Ciera.

I thought I did this ten years ago but Iā€™ll try again.

60 Morris Minor piece of junk (Body work)
59 VW totaled (Body work)
59 Pontiac (Body work)
68 Dodge Dart
74 Olds Cutlass 240K (Body work)
61 Corvair made money on people running into me (Body work)
67 Buick wagon with the neat roof windows (Body work)
73 Lincoln (Body work)
81 Olds diesel 480K but costly (Body work)
86 Buick Park Ave (Body work)
86 Buick Riviera 350K (Body work)
89 Buick Riviera 520K (Body work)
95 Olds Aurora 200K (Body work)
08 Acura TL
12 Acura TL
16 Acura RDX
09 Pontiac G6
So I guess one Ford product and one Chevy. My wife made me WOKE though when she said I had a newer car in college than I was driving then, so I upgraded. Seems to me I might have missed some.
Other ones I was intimately involved in though:
61 Merc
60 Falcon
62 Lark (Body work)
66 Plymouth
70 Plymouth
96 Integra (Body work)
76 Pinto wagon (Body work)

Four cars in 45 years thatā€™s not bad! I have been driving for 66 years and have gone through 13 cars I owned and 6 company cars that were traded at 3 years of age. However. since my wife also drives that makes 13+6=19 cars over 60 odd years for 2 drivers or 7 years per car per person

You did 45/4=11.3 years per car.

I guess I forgot the Pinto wagon. Donā€™t know what year it was. Iā€™m going to go back and add how many I did body work on.

In model year order

Daily drivers:

1962 Olds Jetfire (factory turbocharged)
1968 Dodge Dart GTS (383 V8 First brand new car I bought)
1972 Audi 100 LS
1974 Olds Cutlass Salon
1975 Olds 98 Regency
1978 Chrysler lebaron wagon
1981 Chevy citation
1983 Renault alliance
1986 Chrysler New Yorker
1986 Mercury Grand Marquis
2000 Chrysler Concord
2004 Chrysler Pacifica
2008 Chrysler Pacifica
2017 Hyundai Sonata
2019 Hyundai Elantra

Collectibles:

1950 Chrysler New Yorker Highlander (first car I ever bought)
1960 Chrysler New Yorker
1960 Chrysler 300F
1963 Lincoln Continental Convertible
1966 Imperial Crown

And I left a few off the list. Dodge Diplomat, about 1979, Buick LeSabre, 1992, Ford Contour 2000 or so, It is ridiculous.

1982 Pontiac Grand Prix. This was a hand me down from my mom. I didnā€™t own it, but itā€™s the first car I drove regularly. The trans and engine were rebuilt before I began driving it. The car had a lot of problems. One day the trans just stopped pulling (again), and my dad had it rebuilt (again) and sold it.

1980 Jeep CJ5. This was the first vehicle that was really mine. 6 cylinder, 4 speed manual, no power steering or brakes.

1989 Mustang GT, 5.0, 5 speed manual. I even traded the Jeep for the Mustang. I think it had 90k miles. It had been lightly rear ended. I scrounged junk yards and found the inner part of the rear bumper and had it repaired. I loved that car. Unfortunately, I was 19 and turned it upside down one night. What a moron.

Another 1989 Mustang GT 5 speed. I bought that car to replace the totaled one, but it just wasnā€™t the same. Eventually sold it.

1979 Jeep CJ5 ā€œGolden Eagleā€, 304 V8, 3 speed manual. Great Jeep. Very 70ā€™s with the V8 and big eagle on the hood and gold painted wheels. I kept it through college, traded it for a Honda Shadow 1100, then traded back for the Jeep when I saw it sitting behind the motorcycle dealership. I finally sold it again to pay off a house lot and build our house.

1998 Dodge Ram. First new vehicle. 360 V8, 4wd. I loved it. Drove it for 190k miles or so, but I had to have the trans rebuilt twice. I ā€œaccidentallyā€ sold it when trying to sell the 94 Chevy.

1994 Chevy Silverado 4wd. Purchased from scrap yard for $450. It was quite beaten and forlorn, but ran really well and the trans was actually rebuilt and still under warranty. I replaced a ton of parts by swapping them off of junk vehicles after work. Had a lot of fun with it. It seemed to appreciate the work I did. Sort of like if youā€™re nice to a stray dog. I sold it for $2300.

2008 GMC Sierra 4wd, 5.3 liter. I bought it used with 52k miles. Noticed a lot of lifter noise, traded it pretty quickly.

2013 F150, 5.0, 4wd. I bought this one new. I liked it fairly well. Traded it at 17k miles for my wifeā€™s current SUV.

2005 Buick Lesabre. I still have this one. It was my grandmotherā€™s car. Good car. Questionable transmission, but Iā€™ll drive it until it dies.

1999 Tacoma, 4 cyl 5 speed. Another scrap yard jewel acquired for $310. Very beaten, verrrry dirty, and had 287k miles. Most of the work I did on it involved interior cleaning. I also bought and installed a radiator. Taco parts werenā€™t as plentiful at the scrap yard. I traded it after I got rear ended.

1995 Chevy 4wd. Traded the Tacoma for it. Did a little work on the Chevy, drive it a while, sold for $2900.

1993 Chevy 4wd. Didnā€™t keep it long. Fixed a few issues, discovered it had frame damage, sold it for $100 less than I bought it for.

1995 Chevy 4wd. I wanted one of these trucks in good condition, so I bought one. I decided the junkier ones were more fun so I sold it. Broke even.

2005 GMC Sierra 4wd work truck. I got a fairly decent deal on it. The guy kept saying it was a base model with no carpet, apologetically. I like it. Nothing fancy, but I needed a truck. I think Iā€™ve got most of the little nagging issues fixed. Still have it.

Kind of late to the party posting to this topic but here goes:

1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme

2006 Lincoln Town Car
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
2001 Chevrolet Astro
2002 Ford Explorer
2000 Mercury Sable
2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT

These are all cars that I owned and drove regularly, for periods of a few months to several years, Iā€™ve had the 89 Silverado for 25 years now. Cars I wish I had never sold are the 65 Chrysler, 70 Cadillac, and 06 Town Car. There have also been a number of cars that I bought and fixed/flipped over the years, too many to remember.

On the other hand my wife has had far fewer cars in her lifetime:
1985 Ford Escort GT Turbo
1994 Toyota Corolla
2002 Mercury Sable
2018 Cadillac XT5

My wife was driving the 85 Escort when we met in 1993, I sometimes wondered if part of the reason she was with me was because she had a car that needed frequent repair!

@asemaster My parents had a 1965 Olds 98 luxury sedan. Gold interior with fabric seats and gold exterior. Trunk big enough to fit four sets of golf clubs and four golf pull carts in. Nice car. They drove it eighteen years. I learned to drive in it and the 1973 Corolla. Talk about a difference from large to small between those two!

@Marnet, do you remember the analog clock in the back seat of that 98? That was the height of luxury in '65.

@Marnet my 65 Olds was white with green interior. Probably the roomiest car Iā€™ve had, seems like the back seat had more legroom than the Cadillacs I had. But not very good cornering with those 14 inch wheels.

It also seems like the 64 Olds with the 394 was peppier than the 65 with the 425 engine, but I didnā€™t have them at the same time.

I got my license at 16. The cars listed is in order in what cars Iā€™ve had.

First car was a 1987 Jeep Cherokee with the awesome inline 6-cylinder engine. Got it with 220k miles. Gave it to my brother a year later when I went to collegeā€¦then Iā€™ve had the following vehicles which is-
1996 Chevy S-10
1992 Toyota Camry
2001 Ford Taurus
2000 GMC Sierra
1989 Jeep Cherokee
1998 Toyota Camry
2001 Ford F-150 lariat
2004 Pontiac Vibe
1991 Chevy Cheyenne pickup
1994 Chevy S-10
2005 Ford Taurus
2003 Toyota Camry
2003 Toyota Camry (replaced the previous 03 Camry after hailstorm)
2001 Ford F-150 XLT
1997 Toyota Camry
2011 Hyundai Sonata
2018 Toyota Camry
2018 Hyundai Sonata
2015 Honda CR-V
2016 Mazda CX-5
2011 Toyota Camry
2012 Toyota Camry (currently am driving this)

And Iā€™m not satisfied with the list of cars Iā€™ve hadā€¦I can get bored with a car quite easily and always am on the lookout for a replacement lol

Ours didnā€™t have the clock on the back seat. But there was a lighted vanity mirror in the middle of the back of the front seat.

Oh by far the roomiest car Iā€™ve been in and with wonderful leg room all around. Hands down the most comfortable car for long trips.

I donā€™t know about those engine differences. I can say that my parentsā€™ 1956 Olds 88 with the rocket engine had slightly better acceleration take off than the '65 98ā€™s 425 engine.

Cornering wasnā€™t that land yachtā€™s best quality but it did parallel park with surprising ease. For some reason, to this day I can parallel park a RWD car of any size more easily than a FWD car.

A Red Green relationship!
