What is busy?
(Luckily the route I used had less stopped/crawling traffic.)
Then, while talking to another police dispatch “clearing” themergencyehicle through their jurisdiction, telling the GPS “Cancel Trip” did not turn the GPS Navigation system OFF. (System busy)
The GPS voice is announcing directions while I am talking to police dispatch.
It is a cloud-based navigation system, the data comes through the telematics/cell service. After the subscription expires you will be using your phone instead.
Heading westbound on a clear, major 4-lane arterial, Letsuck Navigation instructs to turn north and go 9 blocks to a congested main road (East Colfax Avenue in Aurora, Colorado) thehead west a half? mile through many traffic-signaled intersections, then back south 9 blocks to the original 4-lane arterial.
(Is calling police dispatch centers interfering with Letsuck Naviguessing?)
Yes. But its instructions interfere with talking to police dispatchers.
Letsuck has a blue [ ] on the screen and one speaks the destination to the system.
As Nevada noted, you’re using a cloud based system. Various things can cause GPS signal issues. The Lexus GPS software in your car is only as good as the GPS signals it receives.
Yes. Thank you.
Often it is stating “System Busy”. By the time it will respond, I am near the hospital.
Hospitals dislike when I cannot give them GPS ETA’s.
And police disptchers dislike the GPS Navigation constantly correcting my route every block because I have departed from it ridiculous routing.
That happened to me a few months ago, and it turned out that an over-the-air update had somehow disconnected me from their data system. Simply logging-on again with my password restored all functions, and I’ve had no issues since then.
Gezzz, lets think about this for a minute, If you need GPS for your side hustle and you can’t use your phone as a back up unit, then BUY a back up GPS unit… Not that hard…
Most auto techs have some or a lot of ack up tools… Part of life…
Tell them that your previous vehicle had GPS Navigation system, your current vehicle has a cloud-based navigation system. See if that pleases them.
Why do you rely on computer assistance if you know a better route? The navigation system is not going to provide you with a “Bootleggers” route through questionable areas.
GPS signal is used to identify the location of your vehicle; however, the map data and instructions rely on the cellular network. This operates like your cell phone, your phone doesn’t contain all the map data of North America, the map data is loaded as needed.
Well then even better, since she doesn’t want another gadget attached to HER vehicle, then she can use the Maps on her phone as the back up GPS… This is really easy…
The Navigation system can suggest other routes when an accident has traffic stopped.
Recently a fatal collision had both directions of our emergency route closed.
Luckily, I was able to take alternate #1. (Surprisingly, police dispatch called. By the time dispatch informed of the blockage, themergencyehicle would have been stuck in miles of traffic.)
System Busy has been happening tooften too long. The problem is when there is no time to wait.
@Robert-Gift
Just get a Garmin and be done with it. If wife doesn’t like it, tough. Are you trying to please the wife or get the job done? If the wife and the “job” are incompatible you need to lose one of them. Sorry to be harsh, but you are (as usual) making a mountain out of a mole hill.
