Hope these 2026 big grill trucks have a front camera

Might just be me, but the GM twin’s grill do not appear any larger than the current crop.

I checked @Barkydog’s link. The 2026 grill is a little larger than the 2025, and a lot larger than the 2020. IMO the blind spot in front of all Silverado pickups is large no matter how many acres the grill covers. I imagine it’s the same for other pickups too, I just didn’t look them up.

Bad frontal (up close) blind spot on my little truck, I am adding an anytime front (and rear) camera to my truck, already have everything, and already mounted the camera, now I just have to pull the infotainment center to wire it up and run the wiring through the firewall, just waiting on my son to finish healing up so he can get under the dash… lol

But I don’t remember that 2018 Silverado having that much of a frontal blind spot, but yeah, looking at those new grills and high hoods, I can’t imagine how bad of a frontal those trucks and others have…

Consumer Reports has been commenting on this problem for a few years.

I have shiny tape on the front wall of the garage . When I see it disappear from vision below the front of our 2024 Subaru Outback I know to stop .

I have an old rubber wheel chock for semi trucks on the floor to let me know when to stop… lol

I just went to the store and in the flat(ish) parking lot, it was a good 15 feet (almost 2 full lanes wide) before I could see the road in front of me, and I have the power seat as high as it will go, mainly so I can see to turn left or right, cause the mirrors are in the line of view, you seem to sit low in the truck anyway and the front ends are long on these things, plenty of room for a V8…
I can see way better in the old Chevy rwd truck…

Heck the other day I was pulling into a small strip mall thing and was thinking I was just mere inches from the vehicle I was turning in beside of, and was waiting on the buildings glass door to close so I could use my reflection and how very close I was to the other car, well turns out I was at least 3 feet away from it… :man_facepalming:

Those Chevy/GM pickups generated jokes, I think it’s much closer than 2070:

Ford, RAM, Toyota; they’re all getting much larger grills and taller hoods too.

Yep, they’re all doing it. Pointless/dangerous. One reason I went with a Forester is the great visibility. Not a pickup alternative, of course.
