Hide scratches on interior of car

Now we know why she left.

I have never traded a car.
Some people want to improve the appearance of their vehicles. Why wash the car? Why vacuum the interior if not ā€œtradingā€ the car?
Preventing future damage to the interior panels is easy.

I have only junked one car, the rest I either sold to private parties or traded in.

Try rubbing a little bit of vegtable oil on the scratches, they wonā€™t completey disappear but will be less noticable. A little oil goes a long way.

If I had scratches that bothered me that much I would contact a detail shop before I would take a blow torch to my car.

I can understand little things bothering you. Small noises bother me, like picking at nails/feet, or drumming on a table.

But would you really trade in an entire car, and buy a new one, just for some ā€œimperfectionsā€? You do realize even a brand new car will eventually show wear, right?

I wouldnā€™t trade over these things but when it comes time to purchasing another car, I am tempted to go new for this reason.

My car only had 28k miles when I bought it used and it was just two years old. The interior had, and still has, very questionable scratches, either the first owner had pets or rambunctious children; it bothers me everyday to live with this.

The thing is: I wasnā€™t paying attention to the interior when inspecting it and found out too late about these scratches.

You hit the nail on the head here. And she goes around telling everyone how awesome her new partner is compared to me because heā€™s an animal lover and Iā€™m a car lunatic.

lol ā€¦ think positive, you discovered this problem before any legal entanglements. I had a dispute with a prior gf some years ago b/c she objected to my dog sleeping at the foot of the bed. Dog stayed, she left. Good result  I have to say she did have a point about the few times when she awoke to find the dog sleeping with his dog head on her pillow ā€¦ lol ā€¦

I donā€™t like dogs. My dad told me never let a dog think you are afraid of him so I donā€™t back down for barking or growling dogs. But that dang little Mexican cha wa wa was just too much. I donā€™t miss that dog or the girl that came with it. 1968 revisited. Dang dog.

Itā€™s not just standing your ground with dogs. I think they sense whether you want to be friends or not. Iā€™ve had so many positive interactions with them that I always project friendship. If they pay attention to me and their tail is wagging Iā€™m almost certain that I have a friend. Iā€™m not completely at ease. If I offer my had for them to sniff, itā€™s a closed fist with my thumb tucked inside my fist and the fingers facing down. If I misjudged and they nip at me their teeth slide off my fingers. Turns out making friends with the dog is a great way to make a human friend with their owner.

Well my dog didnā€™t bother with fingers, went right to the lips and arms. Had such a short tail couldnā€™t tell if she was wagging it or not. Lucky we didnā€™t get sued but paid for the stitches. Dad said she was enjoying her new life on an Iowa farm. Later on I started to wonder about that story. But it was hunting season and the shot gun needed to be cleaned.

Pffftttt I have been bit by almost every dog my wife and I ever had, most of the time it was my faultā€¦ lolā€¦ We had a 125# Wolf/Malamute Hybrid (bit), 100# Malamute/Golden Retriever, 76# Blue Nose Pitt (albino & deaf), 95# Pit/Blake Lab (crazy one), 55# Red Nose Pit, a 30# American Eskimo, a few other Pitts and currently a 90-100# giant mutt, and a 1.5yo sweety pie Red Nose Pittyā€¦ I know I am missing a few Pitts as well as oter breads we have had over the yearsā€¦ The 95# Pit/Lab got me the the worst when my wife was really sick and he warned me and I didnā€™t respect him, 100% my fault, other than the crazy Pit, (sadly canā€™t save them all), it was all the other breads that have bit meā€¦ lolā€¦

There was a couple of big Pits that keep getting loose in the neighborhood, well one day I looked out and spotted the biggest one out and about, so I grabbed the lease and walked out to him calmly and respectfully (have to know, understand and respect the bread) and opened a loop and started loving on him and slowly slid the loop over his head (DONā€™T try this at home) and as soon as I did he calmed down, I walked him a little, gave him water and then some food and then brought him inside with the other pitsā€¦ Left the front door open (glass door closed) so he didnā€™t feel trapped and waited on his idiot owner that did not deserve him, if he got loose again I was going to keep himā€¦ lolā€¦ They either fixed the fence or something, cause we never saw him again after the last time, but the last time he just came up to the door and we let him own inā€¦

And to bring it back again to cars, they drove a Camry, probably didnā€™t deserve the car eitherā€¦

Now I used to love to take the doges for rides, mostly the Pitties, everyone loved them were I wentā€¦ If I went through a drive trough without them, someone would always ask about themā€¦

I want to take the big o mut for rides in the new truck, and I would lay the seats down, but the door panels is what I am worried about being damaged, and maybe the head rest possiblyā€¦
Also a little uneasy about the rear privacy glassā€™s as they are dies and not tinted, guess my son good answer that oneā€¦ lol

Here is a pic of the wondering Pit, we called him Tux, no idea what his name was, but he seemed to like Tuxā€¦ Probably around 100#'s, giant head on him, The white one on the couch is the 76# Blue Nose, she is a sweat heart, but trouble makerā€¦ lol

If the plastic has a matte finish, the problem with the torch method is that the ā€œmeltā€ can yield a glossy finish that can be worse than the original problem. (Been there, done that)
Possibly can be avoided by immediately touching with a fine grit sandpaper but never tried that myself. Best solutions are replace the panel or just live with it.

Re dogs, always had big dogs and they can be hell on a carā€™s interior but they make a wide variety of products to protect the interior and restrain the dogs. Costs a bit but in a panic stop, an unrestrained 100 lb dog flying at 60 mph can be a formidable projectile!

Very cute dog, Dave.

I love dogs myself and I have owned a few. I just donā€™t want them inside my cars lol. And because of this, the ladies think Iā€™m an awful man.

It is uncommon for people to take their dogs inside their cars on the island. I barely ever see this. But in the united state itā€™s a common thing, and people seem to prioritize their dogs over their human partners here.

I like to keep my car smelling new, even though it is impossible to keep the new car scent forever; and having dogs inside the car wonā€™t allow me to keep the car smelling new.

My car is almost 7 years old now and it smells cleaner than most dog owners cars that I know of.

My sister husbandā€™s sister has 3 cars and one of them is specifically for her dogs. She wonā€™t let the dogs inside of her other 2 vehicles.

Cause we like them better sometimesā€¦
Dog lovers donā€™t have pets, we have fur babyā€™sā€¦

I still have the Vibe/Matrix to drive the dog(s) around, but in the case of an unlikely vacation, I will need to find protection for the interiorā€¦ Never been to worried about it in other vehiclesā€¦

In the 80s drove from California to Florida with a Labrador, Miniature Schnauzer, and a domestic long hair cat riding in the backseat of an 86 T-Bird.
The dogs were not purebreds but looked purebred.

The more people I meet, the more I like my dog.

Similarly, my dog just scratched my carā€™s interior. but after using the available products, I decided to get rid of this by replacing it.
