Got a stripped nut any ideas how to get it out?

The suggestion to use a slightly smaller socket has worked well for me in the past. Try a 13mm and hammer it on if you have to. You could also try a 1/2 inch socket as that converts to 12.7 mm. I would suggest using impact sockets as well.
