A large un-tapped market perfect for EV’s.
Amazon recognized the need and made its own EV partnership. If Ford, GM, Chrysler, Nissan and the like had recognized the market earlier, Amazon would not have had to make that move.
With e-commerce booming, there are delivery vans ALL over my area. each coming from their own depots located on the edge of town. 250 mile range would be plenty.
Maybe they didn’t have batteries that would support this product until now. Amazon is in a different situation. They are a user, not necessarily a seller of electric delivery trucks. They created their own market for the trucks and can support whatever they come up with.
