My fuel pump went out tried to replace with new one. The bottom hits the frame will not line up. The furl lines hit on the bottom. Is there a differnt tyoe to try?
You can get a rebuild kit from many places (Hemmings Motor News is a good source for these places). I rebuilt my 1949 Cadillac’s fuel pump from such a kit and it was easy and inexpensive.
The new one is not designed the same as your original? Sure you got the right one?

Always bring the old one to the car parts store and compare it to the new one, right there in the store.
