I have a 1996 Toy Corolla with 145350 mi runs great, question can changing the fuel filter affect the fuel pump performance in any way. Thanks every one Ronny
No…Except perhaps make it work better…But at 145K miles, pump failures become very common…
By changing the filter you increase the pumps life and make it run better. Should have no adverse effects.
I replace the fuel filters on my vehicles once a year…Usually this is long before what is recommended by the manufacturer…and every time I do…the filter is FILTHY…Replace a filter at the very least when recommended by the manufacturer…and you should NEVER have to replace the pump…5 vehicles with well over 250k miles and 2 of them well over 300k miles…and NEVER had to replace a pump.
