Apparently the key would not turn on the 1997 ford taurus so my daughter may have forced it. Now the key seems loose, the radio will not turn off and the car will not start. I had to diconnect the battery. I have tried replacing the ignition lock cylinder but with the same results. Any ideas on what to check next?
linkage to the ignition switch, and then the ignition switch itself.
With the lock replaced, does the key now turn normally?
Still seems loose which makes me think that it is something beyond the lock…and the fact that the radio still won’t turn off also makes me think that the lock is not the problem.
