I ran across this unauthorized exploration of the sand mines below the Twin Cities Ford Assembly Plant to be demolished starting on Monday. It was interesting and thought some might be interested. They used to mine silica sand below the plant to make glass with. Tour 4 is where they actually made it into the idled plant itself. Lots of interesting pics of the historical plant. There are some language issues though since it is university students doing the exploring and logging their exploits, but interesting.

Even though I’ve only owned one Ford, I have a warm place in my heart for the historical Ford organization and espectially the 1924 Ford plant in St. Paul. It was hydro powered and on the river for barge transportation. It was quite a place. Too bad it couldn’t be saved.
