Ford Exploer Transmission

My daughter has a 2000 or 2001 Ford explorer 4wd with about 105K on it. Just recently when driving, from about 30 to 40 mph the transmission appears to “slip” and we get a jerk while driving. Anyone have an idea about this and how safe is this? Can she drives it until it dies or should we repair the car?

Well, anytime a transmission slips it damages the friction plates. The more it slips the more damage is done. it would be a good idea to get the vehicle checked out to find out why this is happening. Because the longer it’s driven under this condition, the more the dollar signs add up.
