An addition to your answer to the lady who had an engine knock diagnosed as “bad gas”. As a former state motor fuel quality inspector if it appears that there is a station that is selling the culprit gas, she should report it to the state authorities. I’ve seen water in the fuel, dishonest gas stations selling fuel under the stated octane rating and even some places mixing in toxic waste with their gasoline to get rid of it. It’s not unheard of.
