EGR Sensor

I have a 2000 Mazda Millenia (V-6, not Supercharged) with 94000 miles. The EGR sensor went out (per computer info from car shop)about a year ago. The shop wants $400+ to replace this. Is there anywhere that we can buy the sensor & replace it ourselves? The car is otherwise in great shape.

Before you start, learn what you’re changing. There is no EGR “sensor” per se.

I;ve attached a few links that should help better understand it. Combined with a Haynes manual for your particular vehicle, you should be set to go. Read everything thoroughly to be sure you’re up to the task.

Sincere best.

Call any local auto parts store, give them your vehicle information and ask if they have the EGR position sensor. Although, everything I’ve seen on line shows the EGR valve and sensor as one unit.
