Do you remember seeing your first Ford Mustang?

My best memory of my first visit to the fair was riding there with my Uncle Ben. He had recently taken delivery of one of the fifty Chrysler turbine cars, and this was my first ride in the car outside our neighborhood.

I probably saw the first one as a Fox body car but a college friend of my parents that happened to move here after Oregon State has had a 1963 or so Ford Falcon Wagon with a 260 that’s a good survivor but was used often until about 25yrs ago when it became the pleasure driver. He thought that Hagerty was messing with him when they said what the declared value should be but it’s going to be the last thing they sell if they can help it.

His Aunt bought it brand new and it’s the car that he’s kept as original and correct as he possibly can, Might have learned to drive in that very car. Maybe not as nice as the one pictured but same color

I don’t remember the first one I saw. The first one I remember was my first car, a ‘1964 1/2’ with the 170 cid 6 but with a four speed. Made it feel a little faster. My sister had it first, managed to blow #5 piston, so I got to to a minor rebuild. Pan off, pistons out, new rings. new piston, clean the grooves on the others, new con rod bearings, cleaned up the valves and head, that’s it. Learned a lot. It was a slow rust bucket, but it was fun.

Speaking of the Falcon, let’s not forget about one of its competitors, which was apparently more powerful than the Falcon:
