I had my injectors replaced and now I have no power. They had this on a show June 13 and I do not remember what they said to do. I have searched the website and can not find this information anywhere. HELP!
You take it to a Diesel repair shop that has the equipment to troubleshoot your particular model of diesel…Guesswork here will cost far more…
What year, miles, make and model? Who suggested replacing the injectors? Was it working fine before that?
Sorry about that, 2003 Chevrolet Silverado Duramax 3500 4x4. All 8 injectors were shooting fuel into crank case, took it to dealer I purchased it from. They replaced them at GM’s warrenty. I paid from engine fush, oil change, air filter change and water pump. I picked up the truck and as I pulled away it did ok then when I went to pass a beater car I had no power the engine raced but barely picked up speed. I took it back and they drove 3/4 of my tank dry looking for the problem. The Service manager said it was fine but would have the techs look at it. They called and said something was not hooked up right and fixed it. I drove it home ( 67 miles) on the interstate and still had the power problem but it did a little better. When I bought it and even with the injector problem I still had massive amounts of power now I am afraid to tow my trailer.
“All 8 injectors were shooting fuel into crank case”
I don’t understand what that means.
Provide some details on this water pump exchange.
Leaking? Overheating? If overheating, just how far was it driven like this?
What I’m trying to determine here is if overheating played a part in this problem. If so, that could be why it had massive amounts of power pre-water pump and injectors and has a drop-off now. In a nutshell, potential engine damage.
I mention this because in your statements you’ve gone from massive amounts of power to did ok to still had a power problem but did better. The water pump falls into that area between massive power and did ok.

Sounds like your clutch was slipping…That’s NOT the engines fault.
