Someone stole the radio from my son’s 1998 Pontiac Sunfire, now the dash lights don’t work. Does it need to have a radio connected, or did the thief break another wire causing the dashboard light problem?
Have you checked the fuses to see if there are any blown out?
Radios are just ripped out when stolen and that can cause wiring problems. Most radios have a wire to connect the dash lights to the radio for night illumination. Perhaps this wire has shorted out and blown the fuse. This should be easy for a car electronics shop to figure out and repair.
