I have a 2002 Mazda B3000 Dual Sport with a 3.0L V6 and a manual transmission. My clutch went out so I replace the clutch, pilot and throw bearing. The stock pressure plate was self adjusting but I replace it with a non self adjusting pressure plate. Everything was working fine for about 3 months but my clutch has gone out again. Did the non self adjusting pressure plate cause this or could there be a problem with the slave cylinder?
Pressure plates can’t be self adjusting. The hydraulic system that operates the clutch self adjusts. The problem is likely in the slave cylinder if there is no leaking at the master cylinder. Just how is the clutch failing?
