Clutch diaphragm...you will be the end of me

The clutch on my son’s 98, 6-cyl Camaro went. It seems to be the diaphragm under the cap on the remote reservoir has gone bad (I’ve been told they do this when the clutch fluid gets contaminated). Because we can flood the reservoir and get the clutch temporarily functional. I cannot find this part ANYWHERE ! The Chevy dealers don’t even list it as a part. HELP?!

For now, simply remove the rubber cap seal and then go looking in a junk yard. If the rubber is all swollen and distorted, then the wrong fluid was added (ATF? motor oil?) and before long you will be replacing the entire system, which will include a new gasket…

I agree on the system replacement being inevitable. Yep, the rubber is swollen enough that it doesn’t seal. Ah the joys of used cars with checkered maintenance history. Unfortunately GM discontinued manufacture of the replacement clutch master cyl with reservoir for this model…?! So I hope I can find what I need in the bone yard…
