Is there a real fix for the clunking in my steering wheel. I have read that replacing the shaft doesn’t stop it for long. Is there any recall or service bullitens about this issue.
Strange. Evey post I’ve read on this subject says the replaceable longer shaft fixes the problem.
What DIDN’T fix the ‘clunk’ was when people were told by GM to load up the bottom end with grease.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no recall or service bulletins at this time. At the very start of this fault, there were service bulletins.
As there isn’t a safety hazard because of this there will be no recall.
I have a 2002 Tahoe that makes a dull knocking noise (usually when turning and driving slow. I never bothered to replace it.
Mine does that too. I won’t even look at it.
