I have a 1996 Toyota Camry. Just recently it started making a clicking noise when I turn the wheel. The harder the wheel is turned, the worse it gets. Also it doesn’t seem to do it as badly if I am not accelerating through the turn, in fact, sometimes it doesn’t do it at all if I am coasting or braking as I turn. What causes this?
First suspect would be a CV joint. You probably have well over 100k miles on the car, right?
That sure sounds like a CV joint. Usually it will be more noticeable when you are turning one direction. Not too expensive.
