I drive an '02 Chevy S-10 ZR2 (V6, 4WD). I live off of a busy street and have noticed a noise when I’m accelerating quickly (from a stop) and turning at the same time. The sound is most prevalent when I turn left, but I occasionally get it when turning right. The sound is kind like like an agressive “GRRRRR…” and the harder I accelerate the louder the noise is. If I accelerate slowly for a turn the noise doesn’t happen, but traffic on the road often forces me to accelerate quickly. I’m thinking something might be rubbing somewhere when the frame torques while I am turning - the ZR2 does have skid plates underneath. The sound has never happend when I’m not turning.
