My 2005 Chevy Aveo makes a creaking sound when I accelerate or decelerate -It seems to come from the passenger side of the car, but it’s not the seat. What might cause the creaking sound?
Could be most anything, but my guess, it sounds like something in the suspension like a bushing or an engine/xmission mount. When you accelerate two things happen: the engine and transmission rotate a little on their mounts, and the front of the car raises up while the rear drops down a bit. Any of those movements can result in a creaking sound.
I’d guess ball joint or a sway bar link that is broken.
Start out by getting the suspension inspected by a reputable shop. Then the engine mounts. Don’t delay, it could be safety related.
