I’ve seen restored 67 Vettes fetch over $100,000. And there were bidders bumping it even higher.

The key question is WHEN was that ad originally posted?
If it was posted in… let’s say… 1972, the median annual income for women was $6,050, and for men it was $10,540. After taxes, even $2,300 was still a substantial chunk of change.

“Those” days must have been a long, long time ago. I don’t know much about vintage Corvettes, and I have no idea if this is a fun car to drive, or what it’s worth today, but I do know that you don’t see houses, lawns, or women like that today. Not here, anyways. Here, grass lawns are a thing of the past, and women with that type of physique are as rare as a hen’s tooth. Times sure have changed…and not for the better.

However, you can still buy a running, driving car for $2300. It won’t be a Corvette, obviously, but you can certainly find a used Chevrolet Cavalier, Dodge Neon, Toyota Echo, etc. in that range.

I don’t know where you live, but in Middle TN anyway, we have mostly green grass right now, even after several snow falls…

And as far as the Ladies, we have both here, there are plenty of very fit ladies in and around the area, same as with the men… I see both men and women and couples walking the streets of my neighborhood and in front of my house, never saw that happening 30+ years ago… Plus there are gyms on every corner it seems like now a days…

That $2300 in 1966 dollars is now $26,070 In today’s money. Let’s assume that the 1970 Chevy advertised below was 2 years old when sold, in that case, $2300 in 1972 dollars would now be worth $17,500. There are tons of used cars available for $17,500.

you can compare 1966 prices using adjusted inflation values but some things also appreciate. we are talking values and not comparable vehicles. would you enjoy daily driving a 66 vette today vs driving a 2015 vette? both cars might be worth the same, say $50k.

You could even get a 2019 Vette for $50k.
