Charging a Tiguan's Battery

I have a 2010 Tiguan that has a dead battery (lights left on). I can’t get the car out of the garage because it’s in park - and I can’t get a charge on the battery with a jump start power supply. Nothing happens - not even a dome light.

Use the road side service that likely came with your vehicle.

Tow truck…

Pull the battery and recharge it. I did this with my Toyota once when I too left an interior reading lamp on.
15 minutes with my 10 amp charger hooked up and I was able to start it.

Learn to back the vehicle into the garage to avoid not being able to get a booster to the front of the vehicle.

Oops, “I can’t get a charge on the battery with a jump start power supply”.

Are you saying you can’t get a PORTABLE jump start power supply TO the battery (because you drove in nose first), or even with the portable power supply you can’t boost the battery??

Amazing, 2010 (almost) and Volkswagen still hasn’t installed an automatic shut off battery saver?

GM screwed up proper, but at least they installed a battery saver in the 2000 Olds Silhouette (van) I had.
