Do you have a check engine light?
Before buying a canister check check valve in gas filler neck,vent lines from tank to canister for kinks or being plugged and gas cap. All of these can throw code that may make some think canister needs replaced.
Typically it is actually located underneath the cat back near the gas tank, and looks like a black plastic brick. Look under the driver’s side rear fender. It should have 2 or 3 vacuum lines attached to it.
