Hey I need to change the brakes in my '03 Silverado. I have never done pads in a car with ABS. I have heard one should not squeeze the pistons into the calipers (using a c-clamp) to get the new pads to fit. Is this true? If so, how do I make room for the new (thicker) pads?
That’s how I do it. It’s worked so far.
That’s how I have done it. No problems. You could also open the bleeder when compressing the piston. I have done that as well. Never a problem either way.
