I posted a few years ago about the Click and Clack newspaper column. It used to be published in my local paper, The Virginion Pilot. Of course all printed media is under pressure to reduce costs and the “Pilot” changed from Click and Clack to another guy to save money. His name was Bob Weber (Motormouth) and I didn’t think his column was as good as C&C. Well, he just died so that column is gone.
The difference was C&C would usually pick one letter and give a detailed answer, with a little humor. Motormouth attempted to pack 5 or more letters in every column and as a result would give very short responses that were useless or downright wrong.
I am wondering who the Pilot might replace him with (if anyone).
We switched to the digital subscription for our lical paper after no deliveries for days and poor service from the parent co. The Seattle Times now is the size of the automotive section used to be on Friday’s.
There were a few guys at work with the same “wired” personality as Scotty Kilmer
They’re virtually impossible to deal with, talk to, etc.
Eventually, supervisors had to intervene and basically tell them that whatever they’ve got going on, they MUST get themselves right, or risk receiving a verbal warning, written warning, notice to correct in their file, and finally initiate steps leading to termination
Well guess what: My presentation s u c k s also, but if you look past that, both Scotty and I have some valid points.
I don’t agree with one hundred percent of his points, but I think he has the interests of every day car owners at heart.

In the minority on nearly everything:
Tire pressures and sizes, speed limits, old tech vs new, 3 gallon toilets that get the ‘job’ done, Standard time, TV settings that don’t burn a hole in your head, Scotty Kilmer, George Carlin, etc.
I do like Scotty but he is full of himself. He really does know how to work on cars and tell us how to do it. He hates dealers like I do. And if you work on modern cars he shows you how to use the modern scanners, from the cheaper ones to the $500 to $1000 ones. I bought an Xtool scanner that he reviewed.
Now, he doesn’t like electric cars and he repeats it endlessly. I was impressed when he tested a 2017 Chevy Volt recently and actually liked it! (I own one) But he did say some things in that video that just weren’t true.
I think if you looked up what a person would be like if they were to down 6 cans of Red Bull, snorted 5 lines of the white stuff, did some m-eth, drank a pot of coffee, all with in a short time, and has ADHD (and lived lol), Wikipedia would show a picture of Scotty…
