I own a 2003 Nissan Altima and I am having trouble switching off my radio since a couple of months. All the other features work except for the power button. As a result, the radio is always on. Do any of you know how to fix this? Thank you!
Unless you want to simply replace that 9-year old radio, I’d just cut the volume to nothing when I don’t want to hear the radio. If the radio stays on when the ignition key i removed, replacing the radio is the only real option. crutchfield.com can give you some good options on inexpensive replacement units.
You might be able to rig up a switch on the power feed to the radio and mount it somewhere under the dashboard. There may be two power leads to the radio–one to preserve the settings and the other to provide the main power to the radio. I would opt to try this in the car that I drive as I am used to jury-rigging things. If this is the car Mrs. Triedaq drives, I would have to implement BustedKnuckles solution of a new radio.
