I have a 1994 Honda Accord EX with 112.00 miles. A recent problem occurs intermittently. After car is warmed up and I take my foot off the gas pedal to coast, it sounds like a chain saw at its loudest and a rubber bicycle horn at its lowest sound. Once the noise stars, I can sometimes abate it by tapping the gas pedal. I have no problem with acceleration when I step on the gas. The timing belts are due to be changed at 120,000. Do you think the problem is a with the fuel pump or timing belts.
Maybe a heat shield on the exhaust.
It’s unlikely to be the fuel pump or the timing belt. Can you tell where the noise is coming from? Is it under the hood or further back, under the car?
