Car Jerking

My 2015 Honda CR-V car started jerking on a slight incline, so I parked it. I later drove it carefully about 8 miles home. The warning lights stayed on, and an OBD scan showed code P0087. Also, my car has been having an oil leak for a long time… I think it’s from the cover gasket, which I will replace this weekend. I’ll also replace the spark plugs.
From what I’ve read, the problem may be the in-tank fuel pump or the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP). Does that sound reasonable, and what should I test before replacing either one?
I’ve done several car repairs before, so I’m comfortable following detailed instructions. Any advice would be appreciated.

From Google.

Yeah, I’d definitely suspect the fuel system is involved.

You may want to take this to a mechanic. Changing out a fuel pump is generally not a task for the “garage” or “driveway” mechanic, since it involved a large tank of gasoline. Which wants to explode.

There’s two fuel pumps involved. It’s far more likely to be the high pressure pump as this sees the most stress. That’s located at the top of the engine and fairly easy to access. Care still needs to be taken to relieve pressure before starting any work.
