Car Jarring Shuts Down Car

Someone jarred the car slightly from behind while the car was parked and now the car won’t start. Does this have anything to do with an automatic fuel valve shut off that has to be reset to restart and, if so, how do you fix it?

It is likely that the “inertia switch” for the fuel pump was triggered by the impact.
Open your Owner’s Manual, and look for instructions on where the inertia switch is located on your car, and how to reset it.
