I have 1999 Toyota Tacoma that I want to move from Seattle and register in San Diego CA The Sticker under the hood has verbage that says this vehicle confirms to US EPA regulations applicable to gasoline fueled 1999 model year new light duty trucks provided that this vehicle is not sold or delivered to an altemate purchaser for principle use in the state of Ca under the athority of section 177. Does this me the vehicle can not be registered in CA
You will have no problems registering the truck in CA. The sticker simply means that the truck could not be sold as new in CA. when it was built.
The truck will need to conform to the federal EPA standards when it is smogged in CA when you go to register it. Having gone through this myself, make sure it passes before you move. Makes things go much smoother.
thank you for the information.
