Buick opera lights

HAVE 1985 BUICK ELECTRA PARK AVENUE 4-DOOR SEDAN WITH “OPERA” LIGHTS ON THE DOOR POSTS BETWEEN FRONT & REAR DOORS.

ONE SIDE LIGHTS, THE LEFT SIDE DOESN’T. CANNOT FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET INTO THE LIGHT TO REPLACE THE BULB. CAN’T FIND ANYONE LOCALLY WITH THE ANSWER. SOME SUGGEST IT MAY HAVE A FIBER-OPTIC LIGHT SOURCE BUT NO ONE REALLY KNOWS.

HELP!!!

There is no bulb, its a flat flouresent type light and there is no fixing it. You can do a seach on this, it came up a few months ago. When mine went out, the replacement was over $100 from Buick back in 1990. I redesigned mine to use a bulb instead by installing a socket and pulling the innards. Never had a problem after that but haven’t had the car for over ten years.
