It could be 6-7 years old…they started being manufactured in 2012 and sold late 2012. If it were me and it was 7 years old, I’d probably just replace the entire mirror assembly myself with a used unit
further in the post, OP says this is a 2018.
to OP:
With it being that new, I would let insurance cover it, or fix it correctly myself. You are doing a mental disservice to you and your car. This car was a lot of money, which you may or may not have loan on. To start skimping on repairs now will very likely start a snowball effect of not caring about this very expensive vehicle- to the point where it becomes unreliable or basically worthless.
Fix it right, and feel better about it longer.
