my car makes a noise when i am coming to a stop,it sounds like something is rubbing against something
Well, yeah, that’s what brakes are all about, pads rubbing against rotor.
Year? Make? Model? Mileage? Front or rear brakes? Cars are not all the same, you know. Has anyone looked at the brakes? If your brake pads or shoes are worn out there will be a nasty scraping sound. It is the sound of money.
On the other hand, there may be another explanation. I suggest having a mechanic check the brakes.
Have you considered getting your brakes checked?
If this is a noise you haven’t heard before, you have probably worn the brake pads down and the metal backing plate is grinding into the brake disk. Get this repaired immediately. It is a safety issue.
