Bluetooth Problem with Toyota Camry & Sprint

I have a 2007 Camry Hybrid and a Sprint mobile phone (Samsung A920). They are paired. I live in the SF Bay Area. When I’m driving across the SF Bay Bridge or through other areas where the Area Code changes, the car phone ringer goes off like someone is calling me. But it only rings once and then it stops. This also happens when some other cars approach me or I approach them. I’ve talked to Toyota and they want to charge me for diagnosis if it is not a manufacturer’s problem. But they won’t say what a manufacturer’s problem is. Sprint says it is not their fault and I’m left in the lurch. What can I do?

Do you have another Bluetooth device to test with?

Yes. I have my wife’s Sprint cell phone, but she’s reluctant to have me test with it. I also have a headset from Plantronics.
