Blinker signal goes off when I press the brake

My 98 Civic was rear-ended and since then when I apply the brakes the dash board right turn signal light goes out and it doesn’t make the “tink” noise either but the turn signal light on the car is still working.

Do I just need to replace the fuse or something?

Thanks for any help.

Has the car been repaired since being rear-ended?
Do you have separate brake and turn lights in the rear?

I suspect that you have a short between the brake wiring and the turn signal wiring in the back of the car. It could have been caused by the impact, or more likely by an incorrect repair attempt.

Feedback from a poor ground will cause that.
