I put my 2001 blazer into 4 low this morning, and it stuck. Haven’t tried much to fix it because I don’t know what to do. It switched in and out of 2 to 4 hi just fine. Possibly a loose connection somewhere or am I just boned? Suggestions welcome.
I’ve found with my 2000 Blazer 4wd it helps to be moving slowly (<3mph) in neutral to shift out of 4-Lo. Check your Owner’s manual to confirm.
A GM mechanic told me to engage 4wd every week or two, otherwise the TCCM (Transfer case control module) locks up. He suggested disconnecting the cable at the TCCM to reset it. When the 4wd drive starts acting up on my Blazer, I disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the TCCM. Since then I’ve gotting into the habit of engaging 4wd on a regular basis.
