I have a 1998 Toyota Camry-has about 179,000 miles on it. Recently when I start the car the radio will have lost its station presets. The car starts fine and everything else works fine. I’m not sure exactly how old the battery is but I think it’s only 2-3 years old. Thanks.
I’d try taking apart the battery connections and cleaning them.
You just have a bad power connection to your radio, I think. You are getting close to needing a new battery, though.
The power for the radio memory usually is on a seperate lead from the normal power lead. There may be a bad fuse that supplies the memory power to the radio so check the fuses under the hood. If they are ok then there may be a break in the memory lead wire connection. The battery isn’t the issue here.
