Auto interior trim removal to access mechanical issues/parts for repair

'01 Pont. Montana has a switch bank located in the center overhead. The switch bank is just flopping inside the much larger piece of “trim”. I have removed the 2 screws visible but something unseen is still putting up a lot of resistance. Thus, I have quit. I know that I am capable of breaking something so I am seeking some knowledgeable help. Actually, I would gladly buy a manual on interior maintenance just for this type of thing as this is the same route to go to change the light bulbs in that same trim piece, among other things as well. A regular Chiltons type book on this model does not cover anything outside of the engine compartment. Thanks in advance for any help and or knowledge you might be able to share. Bob Wallace
