I am re-trying the question. I let the window down again. Froze my keister on the way to work.
The driver side window switch is erratic. It always rolls down. The button has to be held “just so” to get the window back up. In cold weather, below 20 degrees, it won’t go up at all. There have been some long cold rides on the turnpike when I forgot. How can I remove and clean or replace the switch?
I am also beginning to have problems with the tailgate. The window always comes up but sometimes the tailgate won’t unlatch. Suggestions?
I just did this repair on a 2001 Pontiac Montana. I surfed over to www.rockauto.com and ordered a power window switch for my specific make and model (~$50.00). You take a small screwdriver and pop the window switch/lock/outside rearview windown on the door up. Then disconnect the wiring harness from the window switch and replace it. If you have lived a good life it is only the switch. Good luck.
