The remote key fob operation of my cabriolet top abruptly stopped working. No settings were changed. It just stopped. The one button windows down stopped too (via remote). I tried my second remote. Same result. Any troubleshooting tips or ideas why this has happened? Thanks
If the second one had not also failed, I’d say batteries. In this case I say whatever electronic module receives the FOB signal has failed or the antenna has failed.
It is going to take a pro-level scanner to find the problem. Find a VAG specialist for this.
This will probably take a specialist to resolve. Did the car’s battery charge run low just before this occurred? If so, it might just require a reset procedure of some sort.
If the problem is in the s5’s rf receiver hardware, that will likely require a replacement part. When my rf-operated garage door opener failed to respond to the remote the problem turned out to be one the rf receiver’s tuner capacitors had changed value w/age.
Check the auto window setting in the center display to be sure auto windows (and top) are enabled.
